The Post-Secondary Education Coalition is comprised of the Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers (ANSUT), the Canadian Federation of Students-Nova Scotia (CFS-NS) and the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU). Our coalition brings together faculty, students and staff concerned with the current state of post-secondary education in Nova Scotia.
The Coalition has produced this pre-budget submission to identify how to improve the quality and affordability of higher education.
In January of 2010 the provincial government dubbed Nova Scotia "Canada's University Capital," in an attempt to bring additional students to our institutions. In order to live up to this title it is vital that the government make investing in an accessible, affordable, well funded and quality system of post-secondary education a top priority in the coming year.
